Poppa Joe and his lovely lady Vanina ,were challenged by Mardon Stable ,to raise funds for local hospice in Alliston,"Matthew House ".Poppa Joe was to shave facial hair and also his mellonhead.The lovely Vanina was to buzz her hair.They both took the challenge up and ran with it.

As you see the results below Mardon made good on it's challenge.When asked by Marv",Poppa Joe said it was for a good cause,hopefully we can get a lot more donations for "Matthew House "

The top two took off around the final turn and down the stretch in a heated battle but Art Professor got into close quarters with Atochia causing interference against his rival and ultimately costing him the official victory. He crossed the wire in 1:52.1 with a half-length lead but was placed back to second. Rock Me Please (Mike Saftic) rallied wide past three-quarters from last to show, finishing nine and a half lengths behind. Legal Litigator finished fourth and will also

advance to next week’s final.

Rock Me Please has been knocking heads against open pacers at Woodbine Racetrack the past couple of weeks, but on Saturday he got to race in a $30,000 event against other four-year-olds, and he took advantage, wiring the field in 1:50.3.

With Randy Waples handling the driving chores, Rock Me Please made his way to the top from post five, and he would click off fractions of :26.4, :55.3, and 1:24 while never facing a serious challenge to his lead.

Through the stretch Rock Me Please sprinted nicely for the wire, and although a closing Grin For Money (Jack Moiseyev) closed in late, Rock Me Please found the wire three-quarters of a length to the good. Grin For Money's :25.3 final quarter got him the second-place cheque and Piece Of The Rock (Chris Christoforou) finished third.

Trainer Bob McIntosh also co-owns Rock Me Please, a four-year-old son of Rocknroll Hanover, with partners Mardon Stables, Carlo Rovella, and John McCormack.
